Special Master Appointments
Providing resolutions for complex cases.
Special masters are often appointed by a judge to oversee one or more aspects of complex litigated matters. They do not represent either party. Instead, they serve as a quasi-judge, helping to provide timely, state, and federal resolutions. In fulfilling their duties as special masters, attorneys have the authority of the court at large and carry out such actions as writing opinions and making rulings. Cal Mayo has been appointed as a special master in federal courts in Alabama and Louisiana.
